Healing + Hydrating lip balm stored in kraft cardboard 100% biodegradable cosmetic push up tubes

Did you know that beeswax based lip balm actually creates an addictive cycle for your lips that ultimately prevents your lips from getting the hydration they need? I’ve created a tallow based lip balm WITHOUT any beeswax to hydrate your lips and promote healing. The secret our ancestors have used for generations. TALLOW as the primary skin moisturizer. Before diving into all the incredible benefits of the ingredients in this cream, I want to point you to a few suggestions…

  1. The lip balm WILL be different than beeswax based lip balms. It may feel a little "oily” at first.

  2. I’ve found that using the applicator causes TOO much to apply to my lips. I usually dab a little and then use my finger to rub in the hydration.

  3. If you’ve been using beeswax for awhile your lips have built up many protective layers. When you first start to breakup with beeswax your lips often exfoliate those layers. Tallow works as a very gentle exfoliator. Often you don’t need additional exfoliation help. Just be aware that peeling and exfoliating for awhile during the transition from beeswax to tallow is NORMAL.

  4. The container this lip balm is stored in is an eco friendly non-plastic kraft container. You need to PUSH UP NOT TWIST. I’ve found that the first time you push up it is easiest to put the tube upside down against a table and slightly push “down” from the bottom.

TALLOW BENEFITS

First off I want to be clear that not all tallow is created equal. The tallow I use is from Helios farms. Where the cows are pasture raised, never touched with antibiotics, hormones, and fed grass. I personally know my farmer who renders the tallow OR I render it myself. Making sure that all the benefits of tallow are preserved through the rendering process.

  1. Tallow contains the same fats or lipids found in healthy, supple human skin. Tallow is believed to prevent dryness at the cellular level without suffocating the skin's barrier

  2. Tallow is loaded with vitamins A, D & K and antioxidants. One of which is vitamin E, known to promote rejuvenation of the skin by fighting free radicals that can cause wrinkles.

  3. Vitamin D has the ability to restore vibrancy in skin. In addition, Vitamin D "induces the expression of antimicrobial peptide genes in human skin and plays a significant role in preventing opportunistic infections." (source)

  4. Tallow and sebum (the oil in our skin) share many of the same lipids or fats in similar concentrations. Some believe that it is this similarity that allows tallow to absorb deep within the layers of the skin. This leaves your skin feeling silky and smooth.

  5. Tallow is an intense moisturizer that assists in retaining the skins natural moisture. It replenishes the building blocks of our skin that decrease with age. It’s non-greasy, won’t clog your pores, is long-lasting and 100% natural. It prevents dryness all day and only needs to be applied once.

The bottom line, there is NOTHING more moisturizing and restorative for your skin than tallow. At the same time it leaves your skin feeling silky, smooth, and hydrated without feeling oily and heavy. Once you try it, you won’t be going back to any other skin care product.Product Ingredients:What makes the difference with apothecary balms is the quality of your ingredients! From my research, each ingredient I use is the best quality. Because I have used this primarily for my family and not for resale sourcing ingredients well that don’t compromise our skin is really important! I also create all my skin care products in small batches as to preserve the integrity of the ingredients. None of the product has ever touched plastic. I heat the product over low and slow heat as to not lose the healing properties of the ingredients.
